  1. Access to work for Syrian refugees in Jordan: a discussion paper on labour and refugee laws and policies

    In this discussion paper, the International Labour Organization, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, seeks to develop a qualitative understanding of the legal and policy framework applicable to Syrian refugees seeking work, complimentary to the recent quantitative studies of the impact of Syrian refugees on the Jordanian labour market. This paper intends to address the contentious and multifaceted issue of access to work for Syrian refugees in Jordan.

These accounts accompany the release of the ILO study “The ‘Disemployment’ impact of the 2014 Conflict in Gaza: An ILO Damage Assessment and Recovery Strategy.”

  9. Italian government first to donate to vital ILO project in Lebanon supporting vulnerable communities affected by the Syrian refugee crisis

    Funding will benefit the vulnerable in host and refugee communities alike, focusing on unemployed youth, farmers and agricultural workers including children as part of the ILO’s contribution to the Lebanon Crisis Response Plan 2015-16.
