Ms Nasri is a Technical Specialist with the ILO Project Office in Qatar as well as the ILO International Labour Standards Department. In Qatar, she is responsible for the design and implementation of reforms related to the replacement of the sponsorship system and the improvement of labour recruitment processes.

Previously, Alix Nasri acted as the Chief Technical Advisor of the global Programme on Fair Recruitment, in the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work Branch of the ILO. In this role, she coordinated the Fair Recruitment Initiative and supported ILO’s work to eradicate forced labour in various countries, with a specific focus on migration contexts. She also worked as a research consultant for the ILO’s Regional Office for the Arab States and co-wrote ILO’s first study on human trafficking in the Middle East as well as an authoritative report on Access to Justice for Migrant Domestic Workers in Lebanon.

Before joining the ILO, she worked for the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), where she was responsible for supporting the development of the Middle East portfolio of the Global Program Migration and Development. She also worked as a program officer on refugee protection for the NGO Heartland Alliance in Lebanon and has been a fellow in strategic philanthropy for the Foundation of the Lombard Odier’s bank.

Alix Nasri graduated with honours from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights after completing an LL.M in Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. She also holds a Bachelor of International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
