Construction workers discuss to further improve working conditions in high-risk sectors in Mongolia

The Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) organised a tripartite consultation meeting to discuss the monitoring findings of the implementation of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health. The aim of the consultation is to improve informed decision-making and working conditions in the construction sector. The workshop is organized under the SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia.

This tripartite consultation meeting is the first of series of its kind to discuss about findings of the monitoring exercise on implementation of occupational safety and health laws and legislations in high-risk sectors.

The construction companies and trade union representatives, as well as officials of the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development and General Agency for Specialised Inspection took part in the discussion.
After completion of the workshops, a set of recommendations will be delivered to the government agencies in charge of occupational safety and health, such as Ministry of Labour ans Social Protection, Ministry of Construction for further policy measures to improve working conditions in high-risk sectors and improved compliance of labour legislation.
