Closing Ceremony of Digital Skills Training Programmes of South-South Cooperation Skill Development Network

On 1 December 2022, the ILO-China Partnership Programme, in close cooperation with National Polytechnic Institute of Angkor (NPIA) and Hainan Technical College, organized a concluding and certificate awarding ceremony

This event concluded a series of training courses under South-South Cooperation (SSC) Skill Development Network. More importantly, it celebrates the successful completion of training programme by as many as 74 participants, both lecturers and students, who have successfully completed their trainings in 2022. Mr. Shi Lei, president of Hainan Technical College, Mr. Rath Ratanak, Deputy Director of NPIA, and Mr. Liu Yutong, ILO-China Partnership Programme Manager, presided over the event and together with a total of 100 participants.

 
Under the cooperation of SSC Network between National Polytechnic Institute of Angkor and Hainan Technical College, they initiated the capacity building regarding to the AI and Robotics on Mechatronics and Cloud Computing. A total of 86 teachers and students from  National Polytechnic Institute of Angkor, Preah Sihanouk Cambodia China Friendship Polytechnic Institute National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia and Centre of Vocational Training of Myanmar, have completed the trainings, which was focused on basic mechatronic hardware and software, world skills competition in mechatronic competition, the origin of cloud computing technology, IAAS level cloud computing services  and container level cloud computing open-source products.

 
Mr. Liu Yutong, ILO-China Partnership Programme Manager, highlighted that this SSC Network featured win-win and mutual benefits of stakeholders. In the short span of time since the launch of the Network on 10 November 2021, the member TVETs conducted multiple rounds of peer-to-peer consultations, put on 12 Training of Trainers programmes from one week course to 10 weeks course for more than 500 trainers who benefited from these capacity building programmes, despite the impacts of Covid.
