92 Members of National Trade Union Council in Cambodia Increased Capacity and Knowledge on Digital Literacy and Employment Services

With the commitment to work with tripartite constituents, ILO-China Partnership Programme supported the National Trade Union Council (NTUC) in Cambodia

To organize a digital literacy training and employment promotion workshop to workers affected by Covid-19 crisis and members of NTUC.
 

A total of 92 (23 female) focal persons from NTUC’s members representatives have benefited from these capacity building event. They have learnt about basic digital literacy tools such as email, online outreach as well as a communication channel for work, and the importance internet safety. In addition, national experts from Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and National Employment Service (NEA) of Cambodia were invited to share the knowledge about the skill development system in Cambodia, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Current Competency (RCC), public employment services, and online job registration with NEA.
 

As a result, all the participants have successfully completed the course with good results. The participants also expressed the usefulness of this training and workshop for their job and would be able to help their members who were laid off from work due to Covid-19 pandemic or unemployed for job registration and matching with NEA’s job centre or online.
 

Mr. Liu Yutong, ILO-China Partnership Programme Manager, participated in delivering the certificate to the participants with the president of the NTUC, Mr. Ath Thorn. He mentioned that “you are making great efforts in promoting employment and skills development in recovering from covid-19 pandemic. I take pride in witnessing the great initiatives by NTUC in organizing today’s Workshop.”
