Skills and employability in Asia and the Pacific

The ILO response

While there are many challenges, there is also a lot that can and is being done. ILO is helping to provide solutions to many skills development issues confronting countries in the Asia and Pacific region. Professional staff and skills experts support and technical advice about skills development to government, employers’ and workers’ organizations. This advice and support is provided at the regional level and also through Decent Work Technical Support Teams located in Bangkok and New Delhi and by country offices. Special emphasis is placed on to skills for improved productivity, employment growth and development.

Skills and future of work in Asia and the Pacific

To shape the future work calls for a reshape of skills policies. The ILO, by conducting research and disseminating front-line thinking, has been supporting the countries in Asia-Pacific in their pursuit for skills development and inclusive growth.
